Ok, so this is my first post. The first of many.
My goal is to crochet a scarf (I prefer crocheting to knitting. Thanks, Chuchi Lynn!) a week. By the end of the year, I should hvae at least 52 scarves to donate to a needy cause, like a rescue mission.
I am doing this extensive community service for a few reasons: first and foremost, my Girl Scout Silver Award. I only have one year left to earn it. And with only 40 hours of service to accomplish, this year-long project should be a cinch. Maybe.
Second, I really love helping people. I wish I could somehow stitch a hug into every scarf. But I think what I'm doing is just enough: keeping those who need our help nice and warm for the winter (I think we're due for a harsh one in '10).
Third, because crocheting is what I love to do. It's a hobby. And what's better than doing something you love AND helping others? Nothing, I say!!
I'll be starting soon. Right now, I'm knitting/crocheting all my Christmas gifts, which will put a slight delay on my project.
But I promise to start as soon as possible.
Email me with patterns, yarn suggestions, etc.
